Week 1 • Day 1: Age 4 Lesson
The Goal: Moving from real objects to physical boundaries.
Step 1: Have your child lie down on the paper or driveway. Trace their body outline. As you draw, name the parts out loud: "Here is your arm! Here are your toes!" (CAPS Life Skills: Body awareness).
Step 2: Give your child a teddy bear. Say: "Can you put teddy on your belly? Can you put teddy next to your foot?" (CAPS Language: Position words).
Step 3: Count how many toys it takes to line up from the child's feet to their head.

Week 1 • Day 2: Age 4 Lesson
🔵 WEEK 1 • DAY 2: Playdough Manipulation (Age 4)
🎯 The Goal: To build hand strength and coordination by using both hands together. Squeezing, rolling, and cutting playdough exercises the hidden muscles in your child's fingers, which are essential for learning to hold a pencil, use forks and spoons, and manage clothing buttons later on.
CAPS Alignment: Life Skills (Fine Motor development: squeezing, rolling) & Mathematics (Spatial awareness).
Parent Preparation: * Time needed: 15–20 minutes.
Materials: A batch of playdough (homemade or store-bought) and a plastic butter knife or a rolling pin (a smooth cup works too).
Step 1: Give your child a palm-sized piece of playdough. Have them squeeze it as hard as they can with one hand, then switch to the other hand. Ask: "Can you make it soft like a marshmallow?"
Step 2: Teach your child to roll the playdough between two flat hands to make a long "snake" or "sausage." See how long they can make it before it breaks!
Step 3: Use a safe plastic tool (like a toy knife or the edge of a plastic cup) to let them practice cutting the playdough snake into small pieces or "pennies." Count the pieces together as they cut.

Week 1 • Day 3: Age 4 Lesson
Daily Warm-up: Look out the window and describe the weather using two words (e.g., "cold and sunny"). Touch your head, shoulders, knees, and toes!
🎯 The Goal: To develop sensory awareness, descriptive language, and fine motor exploration.
📌 CAPS Alignment: Life Skills (Beginning Knowledge: My Body) & Language (Listening and Speaking).
⏱️ Parent Preparation: Time needed: 15–20 minutes.
Materials: A small blindfold (like a scarf), 3 different food items from the kitchen (e.g., a slice of apple, a pinch of salt/sugar, a piece of banana), and a small plastic container with a lid.
Step 1 (The Blindfold Guess): Blindfold your child gently. Place a small piece of food in their mouth and ask them to use their sense of taste to guess what it is. Ask: "Is it sweet, sour, or salty?"
Step 2 (The Sound Box): Put a few small objects (like dry beans, coins, or keys) into a plastic container and close the lid. Shake it! Ask your child to use their sense of hearing to guess what is making the noise inside.
Step 3 (Texture Touch): Walk around the house or garden. Have your child find one object that feels rough (like tree bark or a brick) and one object that feels smooth (like a window pane or a plastic toy).

Week 1 • Day 4: Age 4 Lesson
Daily Warm-up: Stomp like a big, heavy elephant around the room, then tip-toe as quietly as a mouse. Reach up high to touch the sky, then down low to touch your toes!
🎯 The Goal: To develop bilateral coordination, gross motor balance, and practice "crossing the midline" (moving hands/feet across the center of the body, which is vital for later reading and writing).
📌 CAPS Alignment: Life Skills (Physical Development: Locomotor & Perceptual motor).
⏱️ Parent Preparation: Time needed: 15 minutes.
Materials: A small ball, a beanbag, or even a rolled-up pair of socks.
Step 1 (The Midline Pass): Have your child sit cross-legged on the floor. Hold the ball out to their left side and make them reach across their body with their right hand to grab it. Repeat on the other side.
Step 2 (The Balance Beam): Imagine a straight line on the floor (or use a seam in the tiles/carpet). Have your child walk forward along the line, putting one foot directly in front of the other like a tightrope walker.
Step 3 (The Beanbag Toss): Place a laundry basket or an empty box a small distance away. Have your child try to throw the rolled-up socks into the basket using an underarm throw. Take a step back each time they get it in!

Week 1 • Day 5: Age 4 Lesson
Daily Warm-up: "The Mirror Game." Stand opposite your child. Do a funny movement (like raising one arm or touching your nose) and have them copy you instantly like a mirror.
🎯 The Goal: To introduce part-to-whole relationships, practice rotating shapes visually, and build patience.
📌 CAPS Alignment: Life Skills (Perceptual motor: Visual discrimination & Spatial relationships).
⏱️ Parent Preparation: Time needed: 15–20 minutes.
Materials: Today’s downloaded Activity Card (A big, bright picture of Snuffels the Dog divided by 2 straight lines into 3 large vertical strips), safety scissors.
Step 1 (The Cut Out): Parents, use your scissors to cut along the 2 dark lines on the download page to separate the picture into 3 strips.
Step 2 (The Shuffle): Mix up the 3 strips on the table in front of your child. Show them the mixed-up pieces and say: "Oh no, Snuffels is all mixed up! Can you help put him back together?"
Step 3 (The Build): Guide your child to slide the pieces together. If they get stuck, don't do it for them! Ask guiding questions like: "Where do you think his nose goes? Can you see his tail over here?"
