Skill Focus: Visual Tracking & Fine Motor Control (Essential for Writing)
The Activity: In our books, Snuffels goes on many adventures. Before a child can hold a pencil correctly, they must master the "Finger-Path." This helps their eyes learn to follow a line—the same way we read a book!
Ask your child: "Can you use your 'pointer finger' to follow the red ladder on the fire truck from the bottom all the way to the top?"
Now, ask them: "Can you find Snuffels' tail and draw a circle around it in the air with your finger?"
Explain: When a child uses their finger to 'find' and 'trace' objects, they are training their brain to coordinate what the eye sees with what the hand does. This is the foundation of handwriting!
